Learn from #girlboss COCO CHANEL

Saying Chanel, many people visualise huge brand, luxurious boutiques and probably Karls’ face. However, the story of this brand is way more interesting than what you can see on catwalks nowadays.

Brand founder, Coco Chanel, was really strong woman. One of the first #girlboss or #itgirl of the nineties. She was raised in an orphanage (her mother died, and her dad left her and her five siblings), where she acquired her first sewing lessons. Her life wasn’t bed of roses. She wasn’t raised in a rich house, she wasn’t supported by her family. She lived during the war, and as a woman, she had to face many obstacles on her way to create a real empire.

Not many people know, that before she created her first boutique in 1913, she was earning extra money as a singer, under Coco alias. She was a controversial and unconventional figure – a revolutionist and a feminist of her time.

She believed that elegance can be achieved in simple and comfortable ways. She believed in strong and independent women.

Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel – inspiring quotes:

A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.

In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.

Luxury must be comfortable, otherwise it is not luxury.

Women have always been the strong ones of the world. The men are always seeking from women a little pillow to put their heads down on. They are always longing for the mother who held them as infants.

A women who doesn’t wear perfume has no future.

There are people who have money and people who are rich.

Since everything is in our heads, we had better not lose them.

Fashion is architecture: it is a matter of proportions.

Women must tell men always that they are the strong ones. They are the big, the strong, the wonderful. In truth, women are the strong ones. It is just my opinion, I am not a professor.

As long as you know men are like children, you know everything!

A woman has the age she deserves.
